We've been getting a lot of phone calls lately regarding the close of walleye season & when houses have to come off the ice. Here are the dates to remember...Gamefish season ends February 26th. House have to be off the ice in our area by midnight March 5th. And for you hunters, Small Game closes February 29th. Enjoy whats left of the season & stay safe out there!
It's Fishing Contest time folks! This Saturday take part in the 55th annual Chaska Fire Dept Fishing Contest from 1:00-3:00 at Chaska's Firemans Park. Next weekend it's the 19th annual February Festival Ice Fishing Contest on Saturday Feb. 4th from 1:00-3:00 on Lake Ann. Before the Super Bowl on Sunday you've got the 25th annual Victoria Firefighters Relief Fishing Contest in our own back yard! Be on Steiger Lake from 12:30-2:30. Tickets for all these awesome events are available here at the store. Come out & support these great local causes!
Now is the time to sign your kids up for Youth Archery League! League begins on Saturday March 3rd at 9:00am & runs every other Saturday for 5 Saturdays. There is no charge for the Youth League provided the kids have their own equiptment. Otherwise, rentals are available for $15/ session. Register early as League it limited to the first 20 kids.
The trout, the whole trout & nothing but the trout! That's what today is about! The 2012 MN trout season opened an hour before sunrise this morning & catching has been good. Courthouse Lake in Chaska was the place to be this morning. Head on out & give it a try! Wax worms, euro larva & Power Bait are on the menu. Use caution if you travel onto the little pothole on the southwest end...ice is thin in the channel. Limit is 5 by the way.
